FROM KANSAS TO THE EMERALD CITY…
When Shane Keck had the opportunity to study in Scotland during his junior year of college, he jumped on it. And then he realized “the world is a much smaller place” than he thought. It was a poignant revelation that travel revealed, for a small-town kid from Western Kansas.
Keck’s passion for science melded with his love for helping people is what led him to dermatology. “I love improving patients’ quality of life,” he says. “I love interacting with people from all different walks of life.” And he always has a stash of jellybeans and honey-roasted almonds in his desk drawer.
Born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas, Keck has an older brother, a younger sister, and his parents have been married for 47 years and counting.
He’s also a huge movie buff, avid concertgoer, and super fan of his dog, Lola Marie. Married in Bora Bora in 2016, Keck’s favorite quote is: “Live life to the fullest.” And that’s what he intends to do, and help his patients do, too.
